Join London’s Big Egg Hunt

egg-on-plinthOver 200 giant eggs have been hidden across London in an effort to raise funds for the charities Elephant Family and Action for Children.

Garden designer, Andy Sturgeon, who won Best in Show for his Telegraph Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2010, is one of 200 artists, designers, jewellers and architects who have created eggs for Fabergé as part of the Easter egg hunt.

Among the flurry of figures who have created eggs are Sir Peter Blake, Marc Quinn and Theo Fennell. The eggs are displayed all over London and hunters can enter the competition to find all 200 eggs and win The Diamond Jubilee Egg valued at over £100,000. The gardening community is getting behind Andy, who is the only garden designer participating. He has created an egg that has a sculptural quality which can have life in a garden beyond the exhibition. The eggs can also be bid on, as part of an online auction, and Andy’s egg has just gone over the £2,000 mark.

Paticipants in the Big Egg Hunt can download zone maps and hit the streets of London. More details about the hunt can be found on: www.thebigegghunt.co.uk

Andy has designed a garden inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement for this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show for show sponsors, M&G Investments which features an energy wave sculpture as the focal point of the garden.Andy-Sturgeon---Egg-design

Andy's egg design for the Big Egg Hunt (pictured above and right) would also make a striking focal point to your garden so get bidding and help two excellent charities at the same time.
