RHS Hampton Court 2011
The UK's leading ornamental grass specialist, Knoll Gardens has launched a new grass at this year's Hampton Court Flower Show. The launch follows the release of three new grasses at the Chelsea Flower Show, where the nursery was also awarded its tenth consecutive Gold Medal.
New for Hampton Court is the deciduous Pennisetum 'Short Stuff'. A selection of P. macrourum, it is rather more compact and flowers slightly earlier in the season producing a mass of flowers held just above its foliage. The new Pennisetum is a welcome addition on the nursery which also holds the National Collection.
The 22nd RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, writes Sandy Felton, cannot fail to impress – not only is there the superb background of the Palace itself but the space and ambience of the flower show site is second to none. Personally, I love the diversity you get at Hampton Court, from the rose marquee and show gardens to the conceptual and edible gardens.
RHS Hampton Court Palace has become a focal point for the 'grow your own' community and it is no surprise that one of the show's highlights in 2011 has been the RHS Edible Garden – the one spot in the show everyone wants to see.
