RHS Hampton Court 2013
Tom, from New Mills School Business & Enterprise College, in Derbyshire, won his title for demonstrating advanced gardening knowledge for his age, a tremendous passion and also skills to grow a wide range of plants. Additionally, he showed excellent understanding of environmental and sustainable issues.
When I think of the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show I immediately think roses, for this is one show in the gardening year where you are really treated to a feast from the best rose growers in the country.
This year a 1950s themed festival has entertained visitors and of course the official launch of the Rose of the Year 2014, always eagerly awaited, sees 'Lady Marmalade' (‘Hartinger’) - pictured left - from Harkness Roses win the ultimate accolade.
