'Be Inspired' at BBC Gardeners' World Live
Visitors to this year's BBC Gardeners' World Live at Birmingham's NEC are promised inspiration with a host of show gardens and features for the 2011 show.
More than 25 Show Gardens and features have been confirmed including the first ever RHS Show garden made of origami.
Steven Bennett, RHS Shows Director, is delighted with the wealth of original content in the Show Gardens and Show features for this year's show:
"The Show is really proving itself as the number one destination for visitors to get inspiration, tips and advice from expert gardeners and nurserymen," he explained. "On top of this, you can stock up on everything you need for the garden this summer, from the hundreds of exhibitors."
The origami garden, designed by Suzi Mclaughlin and called 'Planting Paper', will be created entirely from laser cut and origami paper flowers - trees, flowers, birds and butterflies will be crafted from paper to create this colourful and unique masterpiece. Honda are sponsoring 'The Garden of Dreams' designed by Rebecca Govier. This will be the first time Rebecca has designed an RHS Show Garden and plans soft dreamy planting contrasting with a dynamic, spiral pathway leading into a contemplation pool.
Designer Yvonne Matthews has joined forces with Macmillan Cancer Support to build a garden to celebrate Macmillan's centenary – 'Remember the Dream'. The garden will have sweeping drifts of roses and lavender mingling with obelisks of sweet peas and clematis.
Flora will be sponsoring the 'Heart Healthy' garden and unique to BBC Gardeners' World, the Birmingham Borders, will once again provide an opportunity for horticultural students and budding gardeners to experience the design, planning and built of a horticultural exhibit.
Also included in the admission price is the BBC Good Food Show Summer, where you can discover a wealth of local producers and see live cooking demonstrations from top celebrity chefs including James Martin.
The Show runs from 15th to 19th June 2011 at the NEC Birmingham and is open from 9am to 6pm. Further details and advanced tickets from: www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com
